BUILDING RESILIENT INFRASTRUCTURE AND COMMUNITIES

Governor Abbott and the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) announce the open application period for the FEMA Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) 2022 pre-disaster grant. The application period will be open from September 30, 2022 to December 2, 2022.

All entities seeking funding under this opportunity must have a FEMA approved Hazard Mitigation Plan at the time the project is submitted to FEMA for consideration and at the time an award is made except for projects to develop or update mitigation plans. An exception to this requirement may be requested on a case-by-case basis in accordance with FEMA’s 2015 Hazard Mitigation Assistance Guidance.

All applications must be received in FEMA GO no later than December 2, 2022 at 5:00 PM to be considered for funding.

BRIC TRAINING DATES

TDEM is offering sub-applicants an opportunity to learn more about FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities(BRIC) grant program for 2022 with a review of the information in the notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) and TDEM requirements for sub-applicants.

This webinar will provide an overview of the grant program and detail available funding, funding priorities, eligibility criteria, and use of the FEMA GO system for sub-application submission.

Participants must register in advance for these training sessions. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Sessions are Tuesdays,10:00 to 11:00 am. See schedule below.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the new Building Resilient Infrastructure & Communities (BRIC) program and has issued the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). This is the first offering of the annual BRIC Grant program.  The BRIC program replaces the Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program.

Eligible sub-applicants include state agencies, local governments, and tribal governments. All entities seeking funding under this opportunity must have a FEMA approved Hazard Mitigation Action Plan at the time the project is submitted to FEMA for consideration and at the time an award is made except for projects to develop or update mitigation plans. An exception to this requirement may be requested on a case-by-case basis in accordance with FEMA’s 2015 HMA Guidance.
