TDEM Seeks Presentation Proposals for 2026 Texas Emergency Management Conference

The Conference runs May 26-29 at the Fort Worth Convention Center

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) is excited to announce that it is now accepting presentation proposals for workshops and educational sessions at the 2026 Texas Emergency Management Conference.

The Conference is back at the Fort Worth Convention Center from May 26-29, 2026.

"The depth of expertise shared by subject matter experts at the Conference is unmatched. Last year, attendees benefited from more than 200 informational workshops covering a wide range of emergency management topics.” said Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd. "For our 2026 event, professionals across the emergency management discipline are encouraged to submit proposals that share lessons learned, introduce new ideas, or showcase innovative technologies that advance the field.”

The Conference selection committee welcomes workshop proposals that reflect the evolving challenges of emergency management across the Lone Star State.

Workshop proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Subject matter expertise
  • Relevance to emergency management in Texas
  • Contribution to one or more key phases of emergency management through innovation or technology
  • Promotion of research, strategies, or ideas that inform emergency managers
  • Ability to engage and involve the audience
  • Overall benefit to attendees

Proposals must be submitted through the conference's online portal no later than December 1, 2025. Final selections will be made in the spring, followed by email notifications and a preliminary workshop schedule.

The Texas Emergency Management Conference attracts over 4,000 attendees, including elected officials, first responders, emergency managers, private-sector partners, non-governmental organizations, voluntary organizations active in disaster, and decision-makers from across the Lone Star State. This multi-day educational event provides a unique opportunity to foster collaboration among professionals, showcase innovative technology, and share insights that advance emergency management in Texas.
