TDEM Seeks Nominations for First Responder Memorial at 2024 Texas Emergency Management Conference

AUSTIN - The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) is requesting nominations honoring first responders who have passed away in the last year to be displayed in a memorial at the 2024 Texas Emergency Management Conference in Fort Worth.

The First Responder Memorial at The Conference honors the life and service of first responders across emergency management, fire and rescue, law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), and public health, who have passed away.

“Pausing to reflect on the contributions of those who dedicated their lives to protecting our communities is an important component of the Texas Emergency Management Conference,” said Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd. “We hope Texans will join us in honoring these dedicated individuals in this powerful display as we pay our respects to our friends and colleagues from across the state who have passed on.”

To honor a first responder at The Conference, please submit information here at tdem.texas.gov/conference. Submissions will be accepted through April 30, 2024.

The Conference takes place from May 28-31, 2024 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth.

The Conference attracts over 3,500 elected officials, first responders, emergency managers, and decision makers from across the Lone Star State and the United States. The Conference provides jurisdictional leaders an opportunity to see and learn about innovative products and services from numerous organizations in the exhibit hall, which boasts over 180,000 square feet of space.

Follow The Conference on social media for official updates and information before, during, and after the eventful week.
