TDEM Releases Workshop Schedule For The 2025 Texas Emergency Management Conference

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) is thrilled to announce the full schedule of workshops and events for the 2025 Texas Emergency Management Conference, which will be held May 27 – May 30 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

“With over 200workshops on the agenda, The Conference this year offers an unmatched opportunity for emergency management professionals nationwide and around the globe to connect, collaborate, and share best practices,” said Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd. “We’re bringing together some of the most innovative minds and solutions in the emergency management discipline to help practitioners strengthen the communities they serve.”

This year’s sessions cover a broad range of topics – from emergency sheltering and crisis communications to grant management and the latest on emerging technology supporting first responders. There will also be an emphasis on the importance of cybersecurity. Attendees will understand the opportunities and challenges to inform strategic planning and decision-making processes and better protect their communities, departments, and organizations.

Members of the local, state, and federal governments, as well as members of the private sector and other industry professionals, will lead workshops.

The Opening Session will be Tuesday, May 27, at 1 p.m., and the Awards Luncheon will be Thursday, May 29, at 12 p.m. Both events will take place in the Convention Center Arena. The exhibit hall hours are scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday, May 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Additionally, The Conference boasts a series of classes offered through TDEM’s national training partners. Many of these courses are free of charge regardless of conference registration status, while others are available for registered attendees of The Conference only. In addition to these valuable training courses, The Conference is hosting a series of emergency medical services classes including proper CPR techniques and courses focused on opioid overdose prevention and the administration of opioid overdose reversal medication.

Additional training opportunities can be accessed through PreparingTexas.org.

TDEM is also administering Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) and Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) exams at The Conference on Friday, May 30, between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00p.m. Participants must register through the International Association of Emergency Managers website by Friday, May 16.

The Conference attracts over 3,500 elected officials, first responders, emergency managers, and decision-makers across the Lone Star State and the United States. The exhibit hall, which boasts over 180,000 square feet of space, provides attendees with an opportunity to see and learn about innovative products and services from numerous organizations.
